JANE FAIRCLOUGH R.I.P.
16th December 1937 – 21st November 2025

Jane passed away peacefully after a short illness, she was 87.

A Celebration of Jane’s life was held on the 16th December, (her birthday) at St Oswald’s Church, Lower Peover.

Jane requested that bright colours should be worn at the Celebration held in the beautiful St Oswald’s Church, where she visited weekly.

Shantha and I arrived early and were ushered into the church so didn’t notice Club members behind us, but we caught up later at the reception.

Family tributes were presented by her daughters.

Sophie told us that Jane was married for 35 years and eventually divorced.

Jane had 5 children over a period of seven years, 11 grandchildren followed.

After a while Jane met Peter Fairclough. They were married for over 30 years until his death in 2020. Jane and Peter worked hard, landscaping the Parm Place garden. Club members visited it over the years, and Jane took pride in showing them around the garden that descends to reveal views over the Cheshire countryside. The garden was always immaculate, with specimen plants, a manicured lawn, a pond with a stream, also a veg. patch (carefully hidden at the bottom of the garden). Parm Place was opened for charity regularly in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Jane was a founder member of the Ski Club and Secretary for many years. She also coached at Rossendale Ski Slope. Jane much preferred off-piste skiing!’ She hung up her ski boots when she was 84. However, she was an avid golfer, gardener and doggy walker. A very active lady indeed.

My first committee meeting at Parm Place, was 15 years ago, and included her two ‘Westies’, eventually replaced by an endearing ‘Cockapoo’, you’re not allowed on the lawn Freddie!

Jane was lovely, caring and liked by all, she will be much missed.
