Thank you to everyone that joined us for this year’s Christmas meal. We had a great turnout, and I hope everyone enjoyed the evening as much as I did.
We began the night with a pre-dinner drink in The Old Monkey on Portland Street. Adjourning to Sangam’s city centre location after a reprieve from the cold and a few “appetite enhancing beverages”.
The food was amazing with plenty of choice for everyone, even for the more discerning food critics and non-meat eaters among us.
Despite the slightly discotheque theme to the music, the conversation between old friends and new was left unhampered. As always, the variety in interests allowed for great breadth of discussion. I especially enjoyed the scientific interest in the genetic reasoning to why certain people find the taste of coriander so different, due to its prevalence in Indian cuisine.
As the night drew to a close, some members took their leave, whilst others sought to keep the party going and returned to The Old Monkey for a few more drinks.
As always it was a pleasure seeing everyone and catching up ahead of the upcoming club trips. I’m looking forward to seeing the same faces, and some new, at future events.
