On sunny afternoon on 11th August, over 20 members attended the charity event in Jane Fairclough’s garden in the picturesque Cheshire village of Great Budworth,
The garden was delightful, containing some unusual plants. A gentle breeze drifted up from the Cheshire countryside with views over Pickmere, towards Shuttlingslow and Macclesfield Forest.
At the end of Jane’s garden, steps led down to the immaculate vegetable patch. Capability Brown couldn’t have designed better!
Tea, coffee, Jane’s home-made sticky chocolate cake, and the almond cake supplied by Helen was appreciated by all.
Freddie and Fossie, reclined under a shady tree and enjoyed a welcome drink from the stream (hopefully ‘the tadpole’ escaped). And no peeing on the lawn either!
The much appreciated donations raised £140 for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
Many thanks Jane, for opening your Garden to us. A pleasant relaxing afternoon was had by all.
