This is an addendum to the main walk write up and describes the exploits of a small splinter group that decided to exercise discretion at Coledale Hause and take the valley path back to Braithwaite.
A party of three left the main group to continue with the planned round and followed a well defined winding path down to the valley bottom at Force Crag Mine.
Excellent views of long water cascades on the way down were a welcome bonus. From here a relatively easy but long stroll along the mine access road brought us back to the Whinlatter road and so down to Braithwaite and our rendezvous point at the Coledale Inn, where we were joined by the main group not too long later for convivial post walk refreshments.
