Fly On The Wall, Committee Meeting November 2018
Reporter: David Shepherd
For the first time in its long history the committee meeting experimented with a conference call link via Skype to two member’s, Ruth and Tosh, who were both working away down south in separate locations. It was a partial success, as the video part of the link had to be abandoned in favour of a reliable audio link, which enabled them to participate fully in our discussions.
The meeting also noted that we are still looking for club members to join the committee and help us to keep the club running efficiently and effectively. It’s your club but it cannot run itself.
Forthcoming social events were reviewed and we are pleased to learn that Helen Richardson has very kindly agreed to lead the low level May Bank holiday walk as part of the Lakes weekend. A big thank you to Helen. Also on the horizon are a possible ski club Saturday morning event at the Chill Factore next summer, more winter bumps courses, plus a fondue night on 11 January & Curry night on 8 February (see this magazine for details).
We have started investigating options for the 2019/2020 ski season, Tony Shaw is awaiting both the Crystal and Inghams brochures. We expect to be advertising the trips in late January after people have returned from the Kitzbuhel trip.
On the clothing front, we are looking into SCoM hoodie fleece tops.
