Fly On The Wall, Committee Meeting August 2015

Reporter: Andrew Walker

Following the experiment at Chill Factore Wetherspoons, we have been kindly allowed to use the (quieter and more comfortable) facilities at the David Lloyd Centre, (thanks to Janet), although some possibly regretted the lack of a bar just a few feet away! We weren’t yet in holiday decision mode, but there was as usual plenty to discuss.

We discussed the impact of Snowsport England's decision to go for individual membership. We kicked off the annual search for an appropriate venue for the Christmas meal, and Alan presented the results of his preliminary analysis of club membership data.

Vanessa, who is stepping down as Chair, said she had managed to surprise herself by realising that 80% of the current Committee plan had been achieved. She would leave future plans to her successor.

Vanessa said that she had declined the offer of a club stand at the Telegraph Manchester Ski and Snowboard Show in October, partly on the basis of cost but also because we have been so successful in recruiting new members at the Chill Factore.

The main item was the planning for the forthcoming AGM, including who's stepping down, who's out and who might be in. By the time you read this all will have been revealed.
